St. James prepares young people from the age of reason, generally considered to be 7 years of age (or 2nd grade) for both First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Both Sacraments are celebrated in the Spring (with First Reconciliation taking place before Easter and First Holy Communion taking place after Easter.)
St. James will host a retreat for the young people preparing to receive these Sacraments. Additionally, there is a retreat for parents to assist with providing necessary catechis for the ongoing formation and understanding of how foundational these Sacraments are for the Christian life.
